Interplanetary Shock (or CME Arrival)
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Location: Earth
Event Time: 2023-11-04T15:45Z ( DSCOVR: PLASMAG )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
DSCOVR: PLASMAG
ACE: SWEPAM
ACE: MAG
Activity ID: 2023-11-04T15:45:00-IPS-001 (version 3)
Quality of ICME Signature: 2 (clear signatures)
Note: Characterized by a sharp amplification of magnetic field components with Btotal increasing from 5nT at 2023-11-04T15:45Z to 16nT at 16:57Z. An increase in speed, density, and temperature is observed as well. Further review of this arrival signature in consultation with Lan Jian at NASA/GSFC suggests that this arrival may be associated with CME: 2023-10-31T22:12Z. It is possible that the B rotations in late Nov 4 at the WIND spacecraft are due to the same CME. This arrival may also have been detected at STEREO A around 2023-11-04T00:00Z.
